820 hours under water: divers recovered thousands of WWII-era shells from the bottom of the sea

 Since the beginning of summer, divers from the Sevastopol Ministry of Emergency Situations have recovered from the bottom of the Black Sea more than five thousand ammunition from the Great Patriotic War, including artillery shells, mortar mines, hand grenades, fuses of both German and Soviet production.     


To achieve this, divers completed 541 dives and spent 820 hours underwater.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has been carrying out mine clearance work in the Black Sea for the third year in a row. This time, employees will complete the mission at the end of October.
